For the longest time, I thought I had no other choice but to depend on others to record my art, spending $50-$100+ an hour , depending on location (that's a lot of money!) and for a young mom with a lot of responsibilities, that just wasn't an option, too many times for me. So, one day I decided to purchase a recording software and download it on my ex's (we were together at the time) MacBook. My stepdad had a pretty basic recording mic and a really nice pair of headphones that he let me use. It was a humbling little makeshift "studio" that I'd set up in my bathroom, but it worked enough and it cut costs. I was getting fairly good at using the software too. Then one day, my ex (we were still together) sold his MacBook and it was back to the drawing board for me. Fast forward over months of saving, relationship problems, and alot of writing. By the grace of God (personal opinion), I was finally able to invest in myself. January 2023 I started recording again and releasing music. Now, I am so happy to say, that I will soon have a pretty legit little home studio setup with everything I need, ready to go within the next two weeks. I feel so blessed to be able to say that (another personal opinion), and I'm so grateful to be able to do what I love. Life has its Lemons but that lemonade, at the end of a long and hard day, is soo good.
